Decatur - Monna "Penny" Joyce Welch Harris, 79, of Decatur, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Friday April 1, 2011 in Fair Haven's Christian Home.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 Noon , Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. till service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma Association. Mrs. Harris was born October 5, 1931 in Decatur the daughter of Earl and Leah (Hart) Osborn. She had formerly worked at Swartz's Restaurant and went on to work for CNA Insurance Co. She married Carson John Wesley Merriman in 1949. He preceded her in death. She then married Joseph Earl Welch in 1965. He preceded her in death. She then married Thomas Jerry Harris in 1995. He preceded her in death.
Surviving is her children: Vickie Sayles and her husband Lonnie of Decatur, Michael Merriman and his wife Linda of Pekin, IL and Patty Jo Feddick of Tucson, AZ; sisters: Linda Heffington and her husband Kenneth and Carol Bray and her husband Louis, all of Decatur; brother: James Lee Osborn and his wife Peggy of Decatur; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, her step father, one brother and her son-in-law: Jay Feddick.
